Sub:    National Technical Seminar of IPWE (India) on topics

            i. “Management of P.way works through need based outsourcing” and

            ii. “Design, construction and maintenance of Railway Tunnels”

The National Technical Seminar of IPWE (I) will be held at Jaipur on 10th & 11th January 2014 (now revised to 23rd and 24th January 2014). There are two topics selected for the seminar, namely:

 

i. “Management of P.way works through need based outsourcing”

            ii. “Design, construction and maintenance of Railway Tunnels”

 

There will be two technical sessions on each of the above topics. The theme of each session will be as under:

 

Topic 1: Management of P.way works through need based outsourcing

 

Technical session no. 1 (23rd January 2014) – Management of P.way and other related maintenance work contract through need based outsourcing.

 

Articles in this session may include issues related to contract management of track maintenance works as well as related issues involving maintenance of track machines formation, bridges etc.

 

Technical session no. 2 (23rd January 2014) – Management of P.way renewal works contract through need based outsourcing:

 

Articles in this session may include issues related to contract management of track renewal works including TR, TSR, TRR, deep screening, TFR and other renewals by mechanical or manual means.

 

 

Topic 2: Design, construction and maintenance of Railway Tunnels

 

Technical session no. 3 (24th January 2014) – Design and construction of Railway tunnels and related structures:

 

The articles in these sessions may include issues related to Design and Construction of tunnel and tunnel related structures including approach cutting etc.

 

Technical session no. 4 (24th January 2014) – Maintenance of Railway Tunnels and related structures:

 

The articles in these sessions may include issues related to maintenance of tunnel and tunnel related structures including approach cutting etc.

 

Technical session no. 5 (24th January 2014) – Presentation by Trade & Industries

 

In this session, articles from Trade and Industries involved in the development of equipment and technologies useful for Railways will be presented for which they may send their articles in advance.

 

Technical session no. 6 (24th January 2014) – Presentation of papers by Members (24th January 2014)

 

In this session, articles on any topic may be presented.

 

Note: Normally very few articles are contributed by the supervisory field staff, hence it is requested that the supervisors (Pway, Works, Bridges & Track Machines) may be motivated for active participation by contributing their articles in the seminar.

 

You are requested to send technical papers pertaining to the topics as per above themes from your zonal centers through e-mail or CD to this office well before 30th September 2013 so that the same could be scrutinized and sent to Principal Chief Engineer, North Western Railway, Jaipur for inclusion in the seminar. The papers along with a copy of synopsis, approximately 200 words should be sent to the Director, IRICEN, Pune.
